I took a closer look, and saw that the battery had exploded, ruptured out of the laptop's casing, and had ripped apart at the seams. I noticed my MacBook Pro wasn't sitting right on its shelf. ZDNet's Violet Blue's MacBook Pro battery burst while in use, and worryingly, it still holds a charge. Apple's exploding Lithium Polymer MacBook batteries are becoming a common issue.
